Pop singer Rihanna got a fresh ink in French - “rebelle fleur” last week. She first got a temporary tattoo transfer earlier of the phrase “rebelle fleur” on the left side of her neck to see how it looked before actually getting a real tattoo. And the singer reportedly liked how the phrase looked and returned to the parlor to get the real thing. And this leads a fair amount of debate as to whether or not the tattoo is grammatically correct.

There are merits to both sides of the argument. “Rebel flower” does translate to “rebelle fleur” if it’s simply read as is. In the context of a sentence, however, it’d translate to “fleur rebelle.” The scrawl joins about 13 existing tattoos on the pop star, including a cascade of stars down her back and Roman numerals down her shoulder. Most intricate is the phrase “never a failure, always a lesson,” But whatever the translation of her latest ink, Rihanna’s certainly entitled to a treat: “Love the Way You Lie,”

So many news sources have been poking fun at her, saying that her “rebellious flower” tattoo is grammatically incorrect. Anyway, tattoos are individual and others should keep silent as long as Rihanna herself like this simple tattoo. And also, whatever things she has, fans will love the sexy singer more.

The idea is that with real love, your heart is involved. With lust, it’s a cutout heart because usually (but not always) your heart isn’t involved; it’s an act of pure lust and is only physical.
