There are several other guidelines for eyebrow piercings care, if followed, will prevent infections and allow your piercing to heal correctly.

Do NOT use anything with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or betadine on your piercing.

Do NOT allow anyone else touch the piercing jewelry for any reason. They will bring more germs and bacteria to your piercing.

DO dry the piercing with a clean tissue after you take a bath. Don’t use towel, it harbour bacteria. Be careful to pat it dry, don’t rub it as this can aggravate the wound.

Before touch your eyebrow jewelry, should always make sure wash your hands. Use salt water to clean your piercing jewelry at least thrice a day to avoid the eyebrow jewelry being exposed to any kind of dust and pollutants.

Keep in mind do not wear any kind of makeup on your face, because makeup will carry bacteria and infection. To promote healing, you can take some vitamin C as the doctor’s approval.

Use a soft-bristled toothbrush with hot water to brush off any crusting. Do not twist your eyebrow jewelry, it only can causing pain and take longer time to heal.

Ankle Tattoos:

It seems that Ankle tattoos are usually requested by women, because they emphasis their legs and the tattoos can be hidden by opaque stockings. But it is better not putting it on a joint which bends, flexes or wrinkles. So before tattooing in ankle area, ask the tattoo artist avoid this issue.

Ankle Tattoos Are Easily Hidden:

One of the best things about ankle tattoo designs are they can easily be hidden by wearing a pair of shoes and socks. If you work in a job wear bearing a tattoo is not acceptable then you can just cover it easily. However, if you want to show off your tattoo just take off the socks or wear a pair of sexy sandals to bring attention to your ankles.

Pain of Ankle Tattoos:

Getting tattooed directly on your ankle bone hurts like being crazy. If you see someone at the tattoo establishment writhing in pain, they are more than likely getting tattooed over a joint, bone or over their spine. It may be difficult to control involuntary movement when you’re getting a tattoo directly over the bone which means your tattoo artist has to be extra careful in inking you.

Aftercare for Ankle and Leg Tattoos:

It is absolutely necessary to protect your ankle tattoos unless they heal completely. After you get an ankle tattoo or a foot tattoo, you’ll notice that it bleeds a little more that tattoos on other parts of your body. That’s because it’s located at the end of your body (extremity.) Gravity is forcing blood towards your feet and ankle. When you get home, lay down with your feet up on a pillow to elevate your ankle tattoo. Besides pain, there is chance to lose the ink to some extent if some hard clothing frictions with the tattooed surface. Wearing boots is a strict “No” for a few days. Also, even after healing, it is better to avoid direct sunlight on the ankle tattoo as this may minimize the brightness of the tattoo. You may use sunscreen with SPF 15.

How to take care of your tattoos

by Rita on Jun.05, 2009, under Tattoo & Body Art, Tattoo Machine & Guns, Tattoo Supplies, Tattoo accessories, Tattoo after cares

Aftercare is critical to the healing process and the longevity of your tattoo. Simply put, the better you look after your tattoo within the first two weeks, the brighter the color will be, and the longer the detail will last.

· Remove the bandage in 4 to 5 hours

· WASH with HOT water and soap. Let it air dry.

· When the tattoo is completely dry, apply a layer of ointment, rebandage, and wear throughout the night.

· Remove the bandage in the morning, and again wash your tattoo in Hot water and soap, let it air dry, and then apply ointment and bandage again.

· Keep washing and rebandaging your tattoo throughout the day, every 5 to 6 hours. (This will be slightly uncomfortable but is very necessary in helping the tattoo heal well.

· After two days of washing and bandaging, remove bandages and leave your tattoo dry for 7 to 10 days, or until your tattoos is fully healed. Your tattoo will be fully healed when the peeling and flaking is completely done.

· You can begin to use lotion on your tattoo approximately 7 to 10 days after you get it done i fno scabbing is present.

· Tattoo will begin to peel and flake after about 5 days.

· Do NOT pick at you tattoo; let it heal in its own time.

· If scabbing occurs, do not pick it or scratch it. Also make sure not to get any lotion into the scabs.

· Do NOT exercise or sweat until tattoo is fully healed; sweat can cause infection and can potentially damage your tattoo.

· After your tattoo is fully healed, apply liberal amounts of sun block every time you go ourside.

· You have been tattooed in a professional studio. It is now up to you to make sure your tattoo heals properly by following these instructions.

Aftercare of new tattoo in 2 weeks

by Ripple on Jun.05, 2009, under Tattoo & Body Art, Tattoo Knowledge, Tattoo Machine & Guns, Tattoo Supplies, Tattoo accessories, Tattoo after cares

DAY ONE: Your new tattoo will be somewhat tender, and will feel like a new sunburn. The care of your tattoo is your responsibility. How you care for it in the first few days determines the way it will look forever.

DO:

* Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.

* Remove bandage carefully - wet in shower first if it seems to stick.

* Wash tattoo with warm water and a mild soap, lathering with hand.

* Rinse tattoo well with warm water, until surface of tattoo feels spueaky clean.

* Pat tattoo dry with a clean, disposable paper towel.

* Apply small amount of lotion or ointment to tattoo and work into skin

* Blot excess lotion or ointment with a clean paper towel

* Tattoo should not be greasy - LESS IS MORE!

DO NOT:

* Do not rebandage tattoo!

* Do not use washcloth, loofa, or sponge to wash tattoo!

* Do not dry with a towel. Cloth towels can harbor bacteria!

* Do not touch tattoo with dirty hands! Do not let anyone else, either!

* Do not apply excessive lotion or ointment. tattoo should not look ’soggy’

* Do not use products containing aloe vera , alcohol, or cortisone.

* Do not expose tattoo to natural or artificial sunlight for a minumum of 3 weeks

* Do not soak in tub, pool, or lake . All contain bacteria!

* Do not pick or scratch tattoo! Use a little lotion for itching.

DAYS 2 - 14: Healing tattoos will peel and flake; small bits of colored skin will shed. It may not look as ‘ crisp’ as the first few days and may appear ‘hazy’. This is completely normal, and will clear up in 2-3 weeks. Continue to wash and dry tattoo twice a day, morning, and night, as directed for in day one. Apply lotion 4-6 times / day, being sure to use a small amount only, and work it in.

Important!!!

Antibiotic ointment (Bacitracin, Neosporin + triple antibiotic) can be used for the first three days only; or if a sign of infection occurs. Problems can occur with prolonged use; and the sun should be avoided at all costs, as some ointments are photosensitive, and a rash can develop if exposed to natural or artificial sunlight.

PRODUCTS WE RECOMMEND:

SOAP: Liquid dial or equivalent, Ivory bar, or Pure & Natural bar.

LOTION: Lubriderm, Vaseline Intensive Care (NOT JELLY), or Noxzema skin cream.
